Comfort Food.

I made this notebook for Grainne at Christmas. The idea is to put all our favourite family recipes into it so that wherever she is she can cook up a taste of home. You know the kind of thing, Pasta Bake, Lasagne, Beef Stew, Dumplings, Tomato soup,  Potato Cakes etc. Great idea, until it comes to writing down recipes that I've been making for years without ever weighing or measuring anything. I'm hoping Grainne will know exactly what I mean by dollop, dash, chunk, good dose etc. x

Beverage Jealousy

My poor neglected coffee pot got jealous seeing all the pretty tea cosies I've been working on. So I took pity on him and made this Cafetiere Jacket. How cool he looks..

Putting All My Eggs in One Basket!

I don't know how many times I've thought over the years, 'wouldn't it be great if you could make a living doing what you love??' What I was really asking was 'How can I make a living doing what I love? I'd ventured into selling my craftwork a few times over the years but I always had the security of paid employment to return to. The idea of embarking on craftwork full time always seemed so daunting. Well here I am, 46 years old, putting all my eggs in one basket. I've started selling my handmade crafts (mostly crochet at the moment) through my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/craftycrochetgalway  So far the response has been so positive I've been amazed. People really like my stuff!! I suppose I'm looking at this blog as a way of sharing my ideas and getting feedback from others who may be on the same path, or just plain crafts mad. Please join me. It'll be fun, I'll share ideas, thoughts, questions, the odd tutorial and lots of photos of cute handmade stuff. How could you resist??
